BallotReady was founded by two University of Chicago classmates, Alex Niemczewski and Aviva Rosman. Launched in 2015 with paper voter guides for the Chicago mayoral election, Chicago-based BallotReady achieved national coverage in 2018 by ensuring millions of voters and partners had access to quality information on every race and ballot measure. BallotReady is backed by the University of Chicago, the National Science Foundation, and the Knight Foundation and is committed to making democracy work the way it should.
